The A2 plate’s design uses Steel’s edge-to-edge protection to make a cut that protects your vitals while trimming as much weight as possible: Multi-hit capable, edge-to-edge coverage, Level III+ tested, and lighter than even many ceramic plates at 5.5 pounds.
The A2’s Level III+ rating means that M855/SS109 rounds at speeds of up to 3,000 FPS, AK-47 rounds (7.62×39), and M80 NATO Ball at 2,850 FPS. Due to steel’s strengths, these plates can stop several tight groupings of hits from these threats on virtually any place on its surface. This means it is both multi-hit capable and edge-to-edge protecting. Steel is also especially resistant to backface deformation, the plate’s changing shape from the bullet’s impact.
