Justin Reifschneider Memorial/Scholarship Fund

Hello Fellow Members,

As we start to wind down another great year and celebrate improvements, accomplishments and victories within our respected disciplines I would like to showcase one other win we can be proud of together – the growth and support of the youth in shooting sports.
This year the Weld County Fish & Wildlife Range started selling merchandise in the form of patches, visors, bucket hats and ball caps to support the Justin Reifschneider Memorial/Sponsorship Fund. This fund is designed to provide financial support for the youth members to continue their growth within shooting sports and the programs they participate in. With your generous purchases you help support their growth.

For 2022, 7 youth members applied and received sponsorships for $500 each. The funds went towards travel expenses to state and national competitions, ammunition for competition and new firearms. As a result, many of these individuals (and their teams) placed very well in their competitions, including a couple 1st place finishes in the Colorado State SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program) Competition and 4-H Shooting Sports National Competition. Just recently one recipient excelled in the skeet Zone 7 regional event where she placed champion and runner-up in her classes in the adult and subjunior divisions.

Going into 2023 all we see is growth in the Justin Reifschneider Memorial/Sponsorship Fund and its support in youth shooting sports. To do so we need continued help and support from the member community. The merchandise that is made available to support the fund is sold during the many competitions held at the range and volunteers to sell the merchandise are needed. As you review the calendar for upcoming events please contact the event coordinators and offer a few hours of your time. Just a little help will make a big impact in shooting sports for years to come…

Thank you!
