in which Colorado permits are Not.

Concealed Carry Permit Training

    *(This special class is only for those who have their "NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course" certificate or current CCW Permit.)

    This class is 3 hours, the last hour of class is for paperwork.. Fingerprinting and Notary Services will be available at the class for additional fee.

        • Fingerprinting, ($10 for first one & $5 for each additional.)
        • Notary Services, ($3 for the first item & $2 for each additional item.)

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

Course Goals: To teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely.  This NRA course meets the training requirements to obtain the Colorado Concealed Carry Permit.

Course Description:  Pistol knowledge and safe firearms handling.  Understanding revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.  Learning how to load, unload, and clean various types of handguns.  Ammunition knowledge.  Fundamentals of pistol shooting.  Two-handed and one-handed shooting positions.  Pistol sports, activities, and competition.  Live fire exercises at range included.  An exam will be given at the end of the course.  The NRA course completion certificate will be awarded to each student after successful completion of the course and exam.

Who may apply?   Any member of the WCF&W in good standing, and their immediate families, may apply and take this course.  Minimum age is 16 years.  Those under 18 years-of-age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

Equipment:  NRA Basic Pistol Packet including Pistol Shooting handbook and brochures will be provided.  Students are expected to provide suitable and safe handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition for that handgun.  Eye and hearing protection are mandatory.  Instructor will provide all targets.  Instructors may have handguns and ammunition for demonstration purposes and range use (contact instructor beforehand).

 

Classes will be booked on a monthly basis.

  • May. 11th, Sunday
  • June. 14th, Saturday
  • July. 13th, Sunday
  • August. 9th, Saturday

Length of Course:  Approximately 10 hours (1-day, including range time).

Location:  WCF&W Range Classroom building (south of Range 4)

Class Size: Limited to 10-12 students per class.  If fewer than 5 sign up for any class the instructor(s) may cancel that class and recommend that students register for a later class.

Cost:  $60 per WCF&W member & $90 per Non-member.  (Non members may register only with instructor’s permission and when space permits).  Please make personal check or money order out to WCF&W.  Spots available on a first come, first served basis.  50% Deposit required to reserve spot  Remainder due at time of class.

Other Information: Refreshments will be provided.  Lunch on your own (plan for 30 minute lunch break).  Bring notebook and pen/pencil.
