About the High Plains Shooting Range

This organization of sportsmen and sportswomen was founded as a non-profit conservation club over forty years ago.  The association is still heavily involved in conservation issues, but has expanded its involvement into education and promotion of the shooting sports.  The association owns a 123 acre range facility eight miles east and one mile south of Ault, Colorado.

Organized activities include:

We are fortunate to have several NRA Certified Instructors to teach classes in rifle, handgun, and shotgun safety.  The range opens at 7:30AM on weekdays and 8:00AM on weekends, closing at sunset.

General membership meetings are held in February, May, September, and December (see calendar). Board members are elected at the December general membership meeting.  Board meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM.
